There are too many castrated individuals that can only make themselves feel important in the anonymity of the Internet. I don't know what lawn mower does for a living, but I really don't care either. I would suppose that PREJUDICE (judgement before knowledge) is fashionable among some groups. Hi Fi has ALWAYS been that way. Why should we expect headfi to be different?

............. As far as a 1W headphone amplifier is concerned, many would be powered by a wallwart. Just look at the thickness of their output lead. Not very thick are they ? SandyK Yeah, your 1W headphone amp needs a 1000 quid, 10 pound power supply with 1000 quid connectors to make the soundstage wide enough............ Why can't DC just be DC?

The reason a certain gauge is required is to keep the wire from getting too hot when the full current is flowing through it. Back in the days when microwave ovens were new, there were quite a few reports of brown stripes on the wall. They were caused by too small wire heating up when having to handle the 1500 watt power requirement of the MW. I am not aware of any powercord meltdown

a James Bond rip-off out of the 60`s. Some pretty impressive big band playing very mid-fi processed.
Cowboy-Bebop couldn't have really existed back then. Real cowboys thought that jazz musicians were all homosexual.

getting into nylons is something that I associate with "warm fuzzies" not dandruff!

Why are you listening to your carpet? I am comparing the soud qualities of rayon versus polyester! Miguel, it's the NYLONS that you have to get in to!

I think that we could enjoy the benefits of both worlds. For external information of note, a link would suffice. If we can jump in and help a fellow grotter, it just needs to be coordinated - a senseless piling or pissing on just serves to discredit the cause. We can safely assume that most ignorambos do not participate or read sites that are critical of their person, so trashing them here is not really productive.

WOW, 4 headphone jacks! where is the volume control? Gives a new meaning to the term "Head Amp"!
UHT milk has dead bacteria floating in it, doesn't sound like a good plan to me! I think the Soya industry is behind this scam! Just another attempt to kill the specialty milk market!

Miguel does have a point! However the cheerleaders seem to have an equal amount of padding - but not the fear of bruises when tackled................

Miguel, I missed it too. I don't think it has anything to do with old, fat or stupid, though. More like charismatic, opinionated, evangelistic!

My kids have always had a steady diet of "good" music. My preparation for classical or big band concerts were always loud enough that everybody was drawn in. In turn, my kids wanted me to listen to what interested them, which I did. We talked about the differences between music and entertainment and they developed a sense for "quality" even in their own listening habits. With that came tolerance and even appreciation for other "quality" music forms.
I believe that is the bottom line. If we involve our children in quality listening, we will reap the rewards of the appreciation of other art forms. The Internet Generation places a definite slant towards quantity and not quality. It is our job to help the kids sift through the garbage - wherever it may be! Let them listen to their music on your high-end amp and favorite choice of headphones. Many times, a good reproduction chain will draw attention to the good and bad alike. At least, you then have a common experience and something to share. Not bad when we consider how many parents have trouble finding something to talk about with their kids.............

Start with Wynton Marsalis' video tapes on practicing and stuff. Even for kids that do not play instruments, it draws them in!

A thousand thank yous! If we consider the time and effort in each of the posts x 1000 we have quite an investment of time. Hope your job continues to give you that type of "free" time, you wouldn't dream of doing this off hours - or?

If it has to be out of the bottle: Veltins www.veltins.de/I generally do not drink too much beer at home so bottles are not much of an issue, and German beer on tap tastes universally great!
