a James Bond rip-off out of the 60`s. Some pretty impressive big band playing very mid-fi processed.
Cowboy-Bebop couldn't have really existed back then. Real cowboys thought that jazz musicians were all homosexual.

Its Yoko Kanno and her group/band/collaborators, she gets the credit for the soundtrack compositions but they all contribute, so are also credited as Seatbelts. All the 'Seatbelts' studio material was for the series, movie or games, and there is a live CD also.
There were 4 80mins CD of new music produced for a 10 hour series, which is pretty amazing.
Kanno has done many soundtracks, notably Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex which has 6 CDs from 2 seasons.
