Will check that out for sure! Wish I would have had the footprint before the final production run came in DOH. No worries however, the small bourns pro audio pot is no junker! Very good quality unit. Just so you guys see the progress, here is the shape of the new chassis over a simulated board. Looks WAY better in person. Having a new batch cut tonight or tomorrow depending on my guys schedule. Hope you guys dig it!

Big update coming tomorrow night with pics! If all goes as planned / UPS arrives on time and so forth, the first fully built sunrise with chassis will be assembled and tested with all the new features / updated layout! This is slated to be the final version before the black/gold production boards are ordered. Soon as all is tested and confirmed, next stop full production boards so the deadline of June 30th can be met with ease!

Now for the one thing I get asked the most that has nothing to do with audio or the sound of this amp... Colors under the tube / valve I previously mentioned that I put in an RGB led so you would have your choice of 7 colors or off. Well I modified that circuit even further, you can now choose or make whatever color you desire or turn the led off as you can turn up and down each color with the turn of a trimmer. Make a deeper red, darker orange, brighter blue... and you can set the brightness. Some may claim it is tacky but surprisingly it was a feature requested over and over so it will be in the production unit / pre-production units can be one of 7 colors. Choice of colour would be good, and also the option to turn the LED off if not required. Really like the finished look of this Amp, well done Jeremy. Mick.

Jeremy, I am a bit confused by your website. Does a fully assembled and tested unit with a tube but with no power supply sell for $189? Thanks.

Hello! - A fully built kit without tube and without power supply is $189.99 + shipping - A fully built kit with tube and power supply is $234.99 + shipping New additions to the board that are being added in just before I make the order of black boards as I really wanted to bring this kit up even further... - All resistors that carry any part of the audio signal are now Vishay RN series 1/4w which I dig - LED output and color is totally configurable - Now available with 10R and 68R output resistance selectable option / minimum headphone impedance is 32ohm.

How about a discount model without the LED, I for one would rather be without it.. And paying extra for a lightshow is just a waste of money IMO.
I normally open my stuff and disconnest LEDs if possible, I hate alle those lights that seems to be in everything in todays electronics..
just a thought

nice. what does it cost unassembled?
also, about the switch, rca jacks, knob, and headphone jack... what's securing them from busting off the pcb?

The prices are located here... store.garage1217.com/project-sunrise-hybrid-class-a--tube-headphone-amplifier.htmlThe other items will not come off the board. They are locked on solid when soldered properly. They are PCB mount by design, not made for a chassis mount. The only component I would advise caution on from hitting hard would be the volume pot as it has no reinforcements like the dc jack, power switch or rca jacks. However on my test units, my volume pot has never moved a mm.

how much would it cost if the amp is soldered together, completely built? or will that service be offered?

Ok guys, Update time! Appreciate all the support, emails and PM's! Going over last minute items on the pre-production PCB, a few small changes were made, but nothing drastic - Added in 7.5mm pin spacing for input caps - All resistors in the signal chain were upgraded to Vishay/Dale RN series - Very minor layout changes to accommodate larger RN series resistors - Muse ES input capacitors were changed to Vishay/Roederstein film capacitors, while a lot more expensive than the muse, no price increase. Muse are still available upon request - Output resistor values are now variable from 68 to 10ohm rather than 68 to 34 "Members that ordered pre-production boards, just change the second 68 ohm resistor to a 12 ohm if you want the same functionality as the production desgin" - Chassis serial numbers now extend to any kits as well, they are serialized as an example... S/N:K0001 - All chassis are in stock / kits are in stock. Just waiting for the black-gold boards - Of course as previously discussed, LED color is totally variable now rather than the set 7 colors - All bottom solder pads attached to the ground plane are now thermal pads for easy soldering Regards, Jeremy

Eat your heart out... looking more then professional to me.
I wish I had the time to setup something like this for my own board.
