remember this? Guess what, I still like it, unlike many other old pop-shit Ah yes! That's a favourite pop to demo hifi in Singapore during the TT days. You have the 45 rpm version? Must have if you don't. I have the 45 as well as 2 copies of the Chess LP. This track is also a favourite of mine from Chess. Fantastically wide vocal range ............ The two singers really makes me listen with their compelling singing. Isn't she lovely. Oops, that's another song!

The band seems to use Sony headphones in the video above. Looks like these Sony headphones are really used in some studios. I like most Ladytron songs a lot, but I'm in doubt that I'd like the headphones they use in the studio.
Another Ladytron studio video, again with Sony headphones:
Live:
The same song also with better audio quality:

That music sounds so scary, I'm not going to argue;-)
There's no accounting for taste in America. If they're using the Sony's I have, I bet they only recorded for 10 minutes before reaching for the aspirin.

Sure, the music a bit unusual (to say the least), but I really like that album. No bad songs on that "Best of 00-10" album IMHO. The downloads from the iTunes store are well recorded/mastered, much better quality than the YouTube videos. I can't believe that they did the final recordings with those Sony 'phones though. Their style is described as "electropop, synthpop, electroclash, new wave" and is quite varied. Reminds me vaguely of "Muse" which has also a very individual style. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladytron

X2...
For me: Florence + The Machine with "Dog Days Are Over, Rabbit Hart (Raise It Up), Blinding" and "You've Got The Love". Their album "Lungs" is one of my favourites.

@ Christian, Chris and Jeff: thanks guys for letting me explore Muse.
I must have been in another world recently, they are all over the radio stations, just never noticed them while playing as background music.
Listening while i'm typing this and i like what i'm hearing.
Cheers, Marc

Time for weirdness, Dewolff's EP "Dewolff" with a track called "The Thrills That Come Along With The Landing Of A Flying Saucer". This band has guts...

Because of that excellent capture I had to buy all their released CDs (Well recorded, no digital nasties as far as I can hear). It is worth it and revives my love for the Progressive music from the sixties and seventies. If they ever release a live album, I want it.
Right now, the Dewolff EP is playing.

Re Dewolff; I'd only ever heard "Silver Lovemachine" before which didn't appeal and I had forgotton about them. Listening to some other tracks now and they are pretty groovy! Even the good old Hammond organ gets an airing

Found my Ten Summoners Tales album by Sting today, after it being lost for years. I'd forgotten how good this album is, sounding good even on a laptop/headphones rig, showing that it's all about the music
