Ian , I've always thought Ian Dury was very under-rated and the Blockheads criminally so. I saw them live many years ago and they were a really tight, 'together' , hard-driving unit that put many other "bigger" bands I had seen to shame.

I saw them live many years ago and they were a really tight, 'together' , hard-driving unit that put many other "bigger" bands I had seen to shame. They were absolutely superb live and Ian himself was a nice, if outspoken character. Thing is, the industry saw him as a rebel suppose and also, he wasn't a pretty site live on Top of the Pops. All about image and selling, which he wasn't in to really. This album is just superbly produced with some great songs showing that old humour from him. 'What did you learn at school? .......... Feck all!' Really hard hitting, short stanza lyrics with his humour4 and often self-depreciation. Great stuff. Ian

Now for some obscure neo-folk rock band .......... Chong I bought this album last week, some good stuff on it It,s called the last night on earth paddy Yup, it wouldn't be "The Last Night On Earth" for us at least unlike another singer.

Oh yeah, some electronic muzak from the country of the leaf. Another of my favourite album. I have both LP and CD versions and the LP version is still the best of both.

Another 27 Club member: IMO a masterpiece. I like the whole "Nevermind" album from Nirvana.

Those "Junior Boys" sound interesting, Chong. Thanks. But to be honest, I can't classify them really. Is it a kind of Electro-Pop? We all love music. But there are also times when music can be dangerous. The songwriter of the song in the video below was killed and the vocalist fears also that he will be killed. The story behind the song: www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/27/ibrahim-qashoush-syria-protests_n_911284.html

So my boys were watching the superb Horrible Histories when this comes on..
So being Dad, I have to show them this, so they can see where the inspiration comes from..
Which leads to ..
and me buying a new CD to listen to music from my youth.
Splendid!

Adam is currently touring as well. Yes folks, he's back. Slightly reminds me of 'Did ya miss me? Yeah! When I was away' and 'Good to be Back'. A little bit sad.

Quite interesting to note that Mr. Glitter has made it into the Cockney Rhyming hall of fame.... "he rammed it up my Gary!" "I was a member of his gang but he couldn't keep his hands away from my Gary" "you want to be in my my gang?" OH YEAH! Pork in the Gary..... Gary?...... "Gary Glitter = "shitter"...... I've got a sore Gary = Mr. Glitter has penetrated your shitter I'll get my coat
