Seems like a reasonable solution. Do you get any changes to sound quality due to grill itself OR when the volume is up does the grill rattle or tizz from the bass?

I think I can hear a slightly change in sound quality, but it could also be my imagination... No rattle or fizz from the grille, but then again I don't listen at rediculus high volume due to my poor neighbors :-) But I don't think there would be any rattle even at really loud listening.

I already posted pics of my (then new) Spendors... but here they are in my current room setup. Sub's behind sofa, left-hand side (REL Q100e). The polar bears usually only come out at Christmas but they stay out now. Shame to lock them away. In any case they help absorb HF reflections from the hearth. Honestly... they do.... Regards, Derek

Man Cave has been born! Basically we built an extension which freed up the old dining room to become man cave, and the old office became wive cave!

Hi Sol, I never really paid attention to your signature before (not being Latin capable) but after following along my daughters Latin course with one eyed interest I actually read and worked it out. Pretty much spot on for a lot of us although in my case I sometimes doubt the brains part! Seems like a nice setup in the cave, some of the kit I can suss but I certainly don't recognise your valve mono blocks? Voyd/Rega deck/arm, Roksan 15 pre, Proac R25? speakers, CD63ki, MF monos...sad I know... Go on, spill the beans

What form of heating is in place? Are you running a "housewarmer S" with swords and berets on the wall?

Proac Response 2.5 speakers, Voyd/Rega 200, Roksan M1-Series integrated used as pre amp, with a Graham Slea Phono amp, and some chinoise mono blocs (Ming Da MC*45-C - with about £500's worth of replacement NOS valves). On the digital side we have the integrated amp, the squeezebox, Pink's Modded X-DACV3 with some passive op amps (Pink's modded X-10V3 tube buffer also, not in the system at the moment). There's also a Grahm Slee headlamp and an X-CANV3 not used. All cases are heavily dame, and there's loads of home made cables, and stuff . The CD63 Mk2 CD player has some minor mods, but is the signature .. which works nicely for a CD player but that's mostly used as a transport through the x-dac.! The digital system is to my ears the best I've heard - though it's getting a liittle long in the tooth. I'm playing with the Voyd/Reg 200 and another turntable (made by a local guy in Biggleswade) with a rega 300.

Oh and the near field monitors are the excellent KRK Rokit 6 actives - which for computer use are awesome for the money.

"I fell of a ladder yesterday and broke my back" (514 likes) "A gunman went mad in the street and shot 120 people" (651 likes) As well as a "like" button there should also be a "dickhead" button
