As I had three AD843s kicking around from my WNA MkII upgrade, I prefered the OPA627s in the WNA, I thought I'd try them out in my Pimeta amp, replacing the AD8620 and AD8610 that were in there. I needed a BrownDog adapter to replace the dual AD8620 with two single AD843s. Unlike some people on this forum, I haven't heard a great number of amps, but it was the fact that I thought the little Pimeta sounded better than the stock WNA MkII that led me to try and improve the WNA. The Pimeta sounds even better with the AD843s and isn't far behind the improved WNA, not bad for an amp about half the size and less than half the price.

Hi Fritzs,
I'd like to try the LME49710 and LM4562, but I can't find where to get them.

xerxes -Re LM4562 www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?KeywordSearchThe prices are O.K. but mine cost US$25 delivery by U.S. Postal Service SandyK P.S. I'm not sure that they work as well as claimed, perhaps some tweaking of resistance values needed . Downwards ?They have lots of detail and may border on overpowering. In the preamp that I replaced OPA2134 with them, they don't seem to handle complex stuff as well. I had mine switched on for more than 72 hours continuous. They may be better for RIAA preamps etc ?

Hi SandyK, Thanks, I'll have to think about that, I rather begrudge spending more on postage than on the parts. Incidentally, the Browndog adapters cost just $3.00 for delivery from the US to the UK.

national have a samples program you can order from, mine were completely free (got 3 x LM4562) but others have had to pay for shipping (US/UK) still pretty decent

Someone on diyAudio.com was offering the LM4562 to members for US$3 each, as an introductory offer. SandyK
