A spontaneous opportunity to photograph this dog, but the dog was quite busy with admirers and was very animated. Not an ideal match for 1/15 sec. handheld, but several bursts produced one good image. f0.95, 1/15, ISO 800. DOF was extremely shallow, made complicated by guessing distance.

Great work... I'm looking forward to seeing it in more detail than my phone allows when back home tomorrow.
Evet played with film emulators? I have Alien Skin 2 and its grain effects are very attrative.

Derek I bought something called Perfect Black and White, which has a number of test sample filters or effects, and after running them on several photos, I gave up - didn't like any of the effects, although a few of them I already do anyway. Edit: What I could use is a tool/software that does specific things very well, such as increase local contrast on a sliding scale, but clean up halos very well too.
