Hi everyone.
My first post here, but I've been a bit of a lurker for a while.
I've just merged my HiFi and av systems, as I wasn't really using the HiFi due to lack of time, travelling etc. My HiFi was a vintage Naim based system using Intros and a Nap/Nap combo. I've retired the amps (for now) and have bought a used Arcam AVR300, which I hooked up last night and am pretty pleased with. Its not as good as the Naims but nice anyway.
The Arcam offers the option to bi amp the main speakers, and of course I can't resist the temptation to try it, but I can't figure out how to do this with the Intros as the x-over only has one set of terminals.
Is there anyway to do this easily? I'm thinking of maybe building or buying a separate x-over. I don't really want to cut up the Naim x-over as it'd be a shame to violate it.
The Arcam has pre outs, but no power ins so unfortunately I don't think that I can go fully active and will have to stay passive as I don't really want to buy another amp yet.
Any suggestions ? Any commercial passive cross overs I could look at ?

Hi rg and welcome.
The Intros have the same passive crossovers as the IBL, SBL and Credo.
To adapt them to bi-amping is easy as the paxos are very simple. It only involves two 4mm sockets, one track cut and a couple of wires per crossover. I have photos of crossovers with this done if you require. If you prefer to build then I also have the cct for the crossover.
Let me know which one you want.

I wasn't even sure that anybody would have any experience of this as I thought that the Intro's were a bit old and low rent and I know Naim don't like bi-amping at this level. Please can you post the photos? It sounds too tempting not to try! Thanks cj.

Thanks cj.
I can see me doing this as soon as I get the terminals. I'm off now to the RS site.
B.T.W does it make much difference?

can't say for sure as i haven't tried myself on any of the Naim speakers. I did modify some Gale GS302 for biamp many moons ago, they gained a tighter, more fluid and better defined nature. Each speaker will differ depending on the quality of the crossover but it certainly allows the amps to get a better grip on the cones.
Give it a try and let us know what you think.

I'm going to order some sockets from RS and will do it next weekend and report back. Thanks again for your help.
