New Headphone rig takes shape

Well.... its finally all arrived / finished !
After getting the headphone bug again from listening to my old Senn Ovation 565's through my X-can V1 with my trusty Wadia CD player at the helm, I started to get sucked in to the
good old "upgrade path" again ! (Ahh, the upgrade path ! ....... consumer of my hard earned cash !!
)
I made the "mistake" of listening to my Dads setup and suddenly felt that old - "now I need to have one" feeling !!
He is using the Denon AH D2000 cans with a heavily modded X-cans V1, which I REALLY liked the sound of, and so my wallet began to twitch !!
I managed to get a great deal on a brand new pair of D2000s on flea bay which I was really pleased with as they are pretty hard to find now, especially brand new.
Then my X-cans V1 got packed up and taken over to my Dads for some open heart surgery !! Now I'm not as educated as my Dad when it comes to this stuff, and I'm not totally sure exactly what it all does..... BUT............. its had ..............
The "Rock Grotto" Capacitor upgrade (with more new caps fitted than you can shake a large soldering iron at ! )
Super fast SG16 Diode upgrade
Ceramic Valve bases
Two Amperex "Bugle Boy" Valves
Pair of 2111KP Opamps
Jalco Phone Socket
50K Volume Pot
Input caps bypassed
And to top it all off, I got myself a pair of half metre Chord Company Silver Siren RCA interconnects ( another bargain on flea bay) ,
and a nice shiny new Belden 83803 mains cable with an MK tough plug and a Wattgate 320 IEC plug.
Just finished putting it all together and connecting up. Going to leave it running for a day or so for a little burn in, then throw some of my favoured shiny discs at it tomorrow
night and see how it all sounds !
