Hi Mike, do you still have the above valves available? I will send you an email since I need 4 matched ones for a Monarchy Audio NM24. Thanks.

I wonder how ordinary 6N23P (6H23N) are. Anyone tried those? They are excellent. Pretty much the same as the "EB" sonically but the lifespan will be shorter. The EB are long life, military grade types where the 6N23P could be described as general purpose. Some of the early 6N23P (before 1972) were built with double getter supports, exactly the same as the "EB", the only difference being the pins were not chromed. It's actually very hard to get hold of a batch of 6N23P these days (same date codes / from same batch) you tend to find the sellers punting out batches with random date codes and 9 times out of 10 they are "pulls" from old equipment (ie: used). I would love to get hold of a genuine batch of 6N23P..... I had 300 of them (3 x 100 boxed batches) all with the same date codes / never seen daylight but those have dwindled to about 50 left and each and every one of them has been an absolute beauty when it comes to measurements.... they have all been 100% spot on and measure strong, I'm going to hold onto 20 of them quite simply because you just can't source kosher batches these days....... I bought 100 from one guy who claimed they were all "NOS", jesus what a load of junk!! All different date codes, 80% of them were duds..... they were clearly "pulled" out of some old defunct Russian equipment and sold as "NOS"..... the seller offered to refund me 50% of the money but I told him to sling his hook.... they went back to Russia for a full refund...... I detest these conmen who claim "NOS" for valves they have probably got out of a dustbin somewhere in deepest Russia. Anyway.... to answer your question..... the 6N23P is a damned good valve, just be sure you get a good example and not some knackered one out of a dustbin. Mike.
