I seem to have forgotten how to connect up my X10D My main system has been packed away ready for our move, but as this has recently fallen through and we are back on the market I want to set up most of my main rig again. Is it best to run the X10D between the pre-amp to power amp or just via the CD player? and what about the Dac ? I will be using my Bryston 1B pre-amp, my 211 power amp, Sony CD (as the transport) and Standac modded 7520 dac, and the X10D (modded of course) How do I connect all this up? and is there more than one way? Thanks all. Pete.

Hi Pete, It really depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want all sources to have the X10D effect then connecting between the pre and power amps is the way to go.
If only one digital source (at analogue out) is required then best to place the X10D between that and the pre-amp.
If more than one source but not all OR the choice is required, pop the X10D onto a tape loop and use that tape monitor as required.
I think the actual connections are self explanatory?

Hi cj. Thanks for the reply. I will probably just use my CD in the main setup leaving my tuner for the second set, so really need to know the best option for that. So if I understand correctly. Pre to X10D via the pre's main outputs to power amp , or pre to power amp as normal, X10d from CD output on pre to CD phono's then dac from CD to ? now I am confused again. I think you will have to go back to simpleton method for me. Pete.

Sorry cj, but just noticed on method two you have Dac, stereo out to pre-amp main in.
There is no main in only output plus the other connections ie. CD, Tuner, etc.
Which do you mean for main in? Do you mean "CD" in? Pete.
