I want to build my own inline notch filter consisting of one parallel notch filter per channel, as inspired by some of Solderdude's filter schematics posted on these forums. After doing a lot of research I found this: www.mh-audio.nl/parallelnotchfilter.aspAfter figuring out how to use it by getting it to match Solderdude's numbers re: his HD681 filter, I came up with the following values for a parallel filter for my heavily modded 32 ohm Grado SR80i's: 25 Ω resistor .39 μF capacitor 1.2 mH inductor I THINK the result of said filter should look like this: It's -5 db at around 7300 Hz and around -2.8 db at around 2300 Hz; it's based on my EQ settings and takes the treble bite out of them nicely. Anyways, the stumbling block I'm on is... are there specific kinds of resistors, capacitors and inductors I need? Where do I order the parts? I guess I'll need some female headphone jacks, circuit boards and enclosures too. Where do I get all these stuff? Can anyone provide me with specific part IDs that will work for this filter, or very closely approximate it? And are my numbers accurate so far? I'd like to be able to build filters for multiple pairs of headphones in the future so I want to be able to be sure I understand what I'm doing here. Finally, Solderdude, if you're reading this... you built series filters as well as parallel filters into your HD681 mod. What was the point of the series filters?

If your using a pc to play your tunes then why not use a digital graphic equalizer.. That way you can alter the cut or boost frequencies to find what you like.
as for components polyp'e type caps suitable enough as to where to attain the components, give use an idea of what country you in.

I do use a parametric EQ with my PC right now, but I'm upgrading FROM these Grados and giving these Grados to my mother as a gift once I build a filter for them to take the treble bite out of them. She won't be using them with a PC, or even anything with a treble control.
I'm in America. I was going to put that in the original post and then I forgot, oops.

You could try a set of flat pads from TTVJ.
