What is an MQD disc? MQD Gold disc are Master Quality Discs 24k Gold made to our specifications and replicated individually at our Blue Coast Mastering Studios -- the same process to create disks that are sent off to the replication plant. These are first generation copies made from the digital masters at optimized speeds and on tested gear. We find they play slightly louder without any increase in the output level in mastering.* These are the same kinds of discs we send out for mass replication. In fact, the packaging is much the same as we send to the replication plant. Don't let the "Ugly Duckling" packaging fool your senses. This Gold disc will turn into a beautiful swan in your CD player! In the next few weeks we may release MQD blank discs for you to burn at home for your own mastering. We're also licensing our favorite downloads for MQD Gold. Let us know if you have a favorite disc from our catalog you'd like replicated and we'll see what we can do. (Sorry, no Major Label projects... yet). us4.campaign-archive1.com/?u=db33df46a283edb42ea721132&id=ddd2e89c27&e=1e3cbedcbd* But the 1s and 0s are still the same !

I bought the first of these for $40 USD, 12 music tracks. That's a lot of money for a CD, especially with no major artists. But if someone were looking for a really good music/demo disk with no pyrotechnics or sound effects, just ordinary music, but with some of the best recorded quality in the digital world, these disks could be the ticket. I remember listening to one track (forgot which) where I set the volume comfortably loud to accomodate the dynamics, then the singer got closer and louder on the mic and I thought my very good system was going to break into distortion any second. A close call, and a good experience to be had.

I've not tested the MQD disc but it's just what we have locally for a long time already under LPCD45 by Hugo which I mentioned many many moons ago. It's a professional CDR as used in the studios and burnt under 1:1 transfer from the original master tape. It's the best sound that I had heard from a red book format. Dale, btw, the bass track I sent to you was from one of the LPCD45 I have. Stunning isn't it? I even offered to let it to Frans when he wrote that bass must be heard at loud level inorder to get the gut wrenching effect to disprove him that that could be had at normal listening level as well. May I reiterate again, if your speakerfi system can't get that at NORMAL vol level, something is just wrong with your system. Frans, still want that track to see what I meant? PM me. It's that good.

OK, the tones are very clean, and when the deep ones sound, the impact is jarring.

Actually, the only way to hear that to the fullest is thru a full range speakerfi of the highest quality. It sounds somewhat like the film Earthquake when the low comes in and all the rattles and poor mice thingy if they are around.
Yeah, you will think for the first time you are hearing thru feeling the music.
