Only slightly off topic but a friend of mine on another forum had his Technics 1210 TT powder coated a lovely bright shade of blue. It looked quite nice in isolation but jarred a bit (IMO) when put with the rest of his kit. Dave.

Perhaps there is also a problem with powder coating: It's important to have good shielding, especially with audio enclosures. The powder coating would act probably as isolator on top of the metal. I don't know how easy it would be to make blank contact areas for the parts after the powder coating.
The look is also only improved when the whole device get a balanced outlook. Plastic parts usually can't be powder coated, although there are some techniques for low temparture powder coating. Usually, powder coating is mostly used for metal parts made from steel or aluminum. I know there are possibilites to powder coat even plastic and MDF boards, but I have no clue how easy that would be. I was thinking mainly of metal parts for the projects, which I do have in mind.
