I just noticed a vendor in DIY Audio selling screened mains cables, but couldn't believe the asking prices. A little searching found a good DIY version. Belden 83803 Cable could also be used in the DIY version. EXPERIENCED constructors ONLY should attempt to make these. Your life may depend on it ! diyaudioprojects.com/Power/diyMains/

I've been using a collection of mains cables from the company beginning with K and also some screened stuff that i bought job lot from Maplins. if you remember i used it as my PSU chords from transformers to main case for your Class A HA/PRE build. i started using screened stuff when i had my Leak Stereo 20 picking up German radio broadcasts on it's own. using the screened stuff sorted the problem and I've used ever since. a great link which will allow people to find out for themselves without the crazy costs of some cables. take care

Owen 195 GPP for a frigging mains cable is ridiculous. Some of those cables go as high as 600GBP, IIRC. The money would be better spent on an amplifier or whatever that has better mains rejection, or even a decent heavy duty mains filter. A decent DIY mains filter or the DIY mains cable version could be made for a fraction of that. Alex

Owen They are the place I was referring to. Cryo treatment of short mains cables ? You could buy one and send it to Frans so he could take some measurements on it. You could probably take an ordinary plastic sheathed mains cable, wrap copper strip along it's whole length , connect both ends of the copper strip to the metal cases at both ends and get similar results. It wouldn't look pretty though. ;D Alex
