I have a little dot Mk3 , my query is would i be able to connect it to a 2nd amp using the line out (rca) on my Little Dot to the line in on the 2nd amp and have both running my headphones at the same time? My reason for this is , i would like to have my iPod source permanently connected to the little dot , but use my other headphones on the 2nd amp via the little dot.(both switched on) Doing this would the little dot influence the sound of the 2nd headphone amp? I will be using my sennheiser hd 650 with the little dot and my grado 325is on the 2nd amp. This is the amp i am looking at as my 2nd amp, has anybody heard anything about them www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RUBYAUDIO-APEX-STEREO-HEADPHONE-AMPLIFIER-/260957293341?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item3cc2444b1d#ht_1269wt_1413

Does the Little Dot have a 'Line Out'? If it does, it could be used as a pre-amp I guess and it would have an influence on the sound.
A cheaper option could be to just put a (decent(ish)) quality switcher box in line before the Little Dot input.
Since it's just an Ipod going in, I don't think you'd notice any difference in quality.
That way, you'd avoid a second amp (colour) in line.
I presume you're using the connector at the bottom of the Ipod? Far better quality than from the headphone jack.

What... the Little Dot? I had a Mk2 and I really liked it with the HD650. What attracted me to it was a lovely, twangy quality to bass guitars. The HD650's surprised me at how nice they could sound with it.
What I hated about the V2 was the heat build up. It actually sent heat into the headphone cable via the plug. (It was that hot!!) The amp itself worried me in that the body got extremely hot and I was worried that my youngest daughter would touch it.
Eventually, it overheated and it did a firework display on me. It was very pretty, but that was the end of the amp.
After that, I was speaking to a private dealer about valves and he set me up a very expensive system in my house. The cost was unbelievable but it sounded downright gorgeous.
Guess what? A valve went and these valves were so expensive, I nearly passed out when I was told!! However, the system was on loan and the dealer shrugged it off and said, that's what they can do.
It kind of made me fearful of tubes until Mike put an MF V2 together for me to use. I instantly liked it's sound and tbh have been using it ever since in spite of having a V1 and a V8. It's kind of my main amp for my headphones. It's a really entertaining sound and I really like it again, with the HD650.
I have amps all over the place but this one, I really do like. Of course, Mike went to town on it and it is particularly quiet and has some very nice parts inside and a lovely Russian Tube!!
The Little Dot kind of brought me back to valves after all this time. I was using valves in the 60's and 70's in a massive way, when we tended to shove any old valve in and take them for granted. When they went off, you flung them and shoved anything back if it fitted!!!!!
I was keen on the Little Dot V2 but it made me extremely aware of heat build up in electronic gear. If you saw my Sunrise and what lengths Mike went to alleviate as much heat build up as possible on it, you'd see what I mean. Mine looks like New York with the twin towers and I can leave it on all day and still touch it. Heat just goes and imo, it's worth doing so that nothing gets cooked in the long term.

It's kind of my main amp for my headphones Ian, out of curiousity, since the V2 is your favourite amp of all the Vs, may I know your favourite based on the sound you like or it sounded closer to the Live sound you musos have been hearing day in and out for years? Thanks on your enlightenment literally.
