Hi all - great forum you folks have here. Thanks to all the contributors, especially PinkFloyd for putting this together. I've got a non-working x-can v2 that I picked up some time ago for probably way too much money . The amp powers up as evidenced by the glow of the LED and tube heaters, but there is no output from the amp. I vaguely recall the previous owner stating that he was trying to upgrade the amp (blue 2200uf caps are installed now) when the ground wire touched something it should have not. Upon careful review of the components, I can see no obvious damage such as bulging caps or burned marks or improperly installed caps. Since it seems that the power supply section is working and there is no other obvious damage, my thought was to simply brute force the repair by simply replacing all of the transistors on the lower board. Then I found this forum . If any of you would be willing to offer suggestions on how to better troubleshoot the problem, I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance!

Hi - checking back in. Anyone willing to offer advice on my no output issue? If someone is willing to take a stab to confirm I'm on the right track, or way off base, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

How do you know that the power supply is working correctly? Are the +24V and -21V supply rails O.K. ?
Sorry, but that's all I can suggest, as I don't have a schematic of the power supply section. Alex

Hi Alex,
I don't have a schematic for either section of the amp and also have no clue as to what any of the voltage measurements would be. I was basing my guess that the power supply was working on the fact that the heaters were getting power. I appreciate your suggestion to measure the supply rails to ensure the supply is providing the proper voltage.
