This phono stage; powered by a single 9v battery, has gotten excellent reviews. The only reservations were that it possibly lacked a little impact due to the battery running out of juice. Nagra has also placed a socket on the unit’s rear that accepts a 7–10V wall-wart-type power supply with a direct current of 10 milliamperes. While the power supply is not included, you can pick one up at your local Radio Shack. The twelve bucks or so spent will not only easily pay for itself in spared battery life (the battery engages only when the PS is unplugged) but keep the unit warmed up for better sound. I was wondering if one of the Little Pinkie PSs could be adapted to power this unit?

But I will power it with a 12V DC car battery after the appropriate step down to 9V DC with an appropriate resistor for the best sound. There is a reason why the such high end pro Nagra uses a battery.
