Hi, I have both a XCAN V2 & V3 (both modded by Mike and both using Little Pinkie PSUs). They are used to drive my AKG K701s and are very good. I am in the market for a slightly more powerful amp to kick a pair of Audeze LCD2s (and maybe even the new LCD3) into the zone. I have done a bit of research and discovered that power is going to be a key factor in driving Orthodynamic headphones to a decent level. Are the XCANs going to cut it? If not any suggestions for alternatives (any British amps?). I'm not good with a soldering iron, otherwise I would have considered a WAD!! www.world-designs.co.uk/head.htmCheers Ade

The Panda kit is capable of powering almost any headphones, why not get someone to build it for you, there must be people around that could do with half a day's work for some cash, Mike may even have some built spare ones.

Why not consider a mini power amp around 15 to 20W to drive the LCD? Only your output resistors must be correct or else your LCD will RIP or there will be lots of hiss. Our nutty Prof Frans, where are you?

Thanks for the answers. I note the Panda Amp is similar to the Lehman BCL amp. I will try the LCD2s with my friends BCL to see how it sounds.

BTW, I am considering buying the amp but I would have them build it for me since I do not want to mess it up.

Hi Miguel,
Feels like I've been posting alongside you since I had my Graham Slee Solo (5 years ago)... ;-) The bottlehead projects look fantastic but I am in the same position as you (loving the great sound quality that DIY projects provide but not wanting to build them).
I also notice that the Smack Kit is only available at 110v only at the moment. The DIY stuff always looks more tempting than the prebuilt stuff and I suspect it sounds as good / better too.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your input. I ended up ordering a WAD HD3S amplifier similar to the one that PinkFloyd rennovated a while back. My mate brought it over - it is one of the nicest (looking and audio) pieces of equipment that I have ever used and works really well with the LCD2s in low impedance mode.
