Hi, FWIW I bought one of these from the same seller, encouraged by his good feedback etc. : - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CS8416-AK4396-NE5532-2496-DAC-Kit-24BIT-192K-/120786572598?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1f70d536I am not a good solderer so I asked a very experienced friend to build it for me. He reported back: - 1) although purchased as having all SMD components soldered in place, 3 regulators were not present on the board or in the kit of supplied loose bits, 2) in his opinion most of the components are suspect fakes, based on printing inconsistencies (compared with known genuine items) but difficult to prove. To be fair to the seller he immediately apologised for the missing regs and offered to send all the replacement regs FoC. He also hotly denied using fake items and went to great (written) lengths to reassure me that he only used genuine components - but I guess he would, wouldn't he . My DAC will not be built for a week or more as my builder is otherwise occupied until Thursday and we have agreed to 'play safe' and replace all major loose items from reliable suppliers like Farnell, so even after build I will not really be able to pass any comments on the seller's SQ. Hope this is of some interest , Dave.
