Kits don't have to comply I guess and staying below +/- 18VDC avoids the power compliance so as long as the "product" is a kit and runs low voltage beneath the radar which means the "DIY for Profit" crew and the legitimate kit dealer are safe as are the mass market crap producers but everyone in the middle is screwed if they A-produce a finshed product and want it to at least sound good and perform reliably for years B-produce valve gear (both parts and power supply) in anything but kit form or labled "PRO" gear (add balanced inputs and outputs, call it "professional" and slip through the cracks ? ) www.britishaudio.co.uk/PHO1FLY.htmlBTW-anyone have first hand experience with this amp ? always been intrigued by the input topology and output current limiting strategy. BTW 2-Since the inoput IS balanced and the power source low voltage even a finished amp could be "complaint" as long as it is targeted to the recording studio user.Looks like balanced inputs alone may be the saving grace in all this which is fine with me even though quality input trafos add a couple of C-notes to the cost
