Great news to hear that the ASA have finally caught out this con man. He mislead people with his claims about his signature powerkord cable he sold would have a measurable effect on distortion levels makes you wonder about all the other cables and devices hes been selling, well i always new he was a con man or am i wrong has this man deluded himself into believing his claims to be true i wonder well he must be pitied then but i dont think so because this man knows his stuff he as worked in the electronic field all his life, but there are always going to be gullible people to buy into his bull****and his followers have even sent him messages of support saying we still believe in you russ and scientific evidence must be wrong but these are exactly the same type of people who believe in fairytales. heres the link. www.asa.org.uk/ASA-action/Adjudications/2008/3/Russ-Andrews-Accessories-Ltd/TF_ADJ_44177.aspx

When this prick first started out he tried to sell me (and MANY others) "acoustically treated sheep's wool" to stuff loudspeaker cabinets with.... this was back in the `1980's and he was advertising in the Hi-Fi mags back then .....
I remember calling him (on the phone) and asking him "why" this sheep's wool was so special.....
"we gather it by HAND and we acoustically treat it with a special formula"
In other words, they get it free off the barbed wire.... they wash it in fairy liquid and then sell it as "acoustic ( hand selectrd / matched) wool"....
A COMEDIAN and I am SHOCKED by how many people have bought into his shite..... I really DON'T want to say any more on this subject apart from "THIS IS A GREAT DAY FOR AUDIO.... ONE LESS BANDIT ON THE RADAR"......
I really don't like kicking someone when they are down so won't stick the boot in but "Russ Andrews" is fat, greedy wanker who is only interested in feeding his fat belly.......
Off to bed now (me)
Night night.

Well he simply continuous selling snake oil but uses different words. He now 'believes' it to be true what he says and mentiones he gets positive feedback from his customers and THUS it works as he claims. What becomes snake-oil and what's real differs from individual to individual. The 'boundaries' float from person to person so to speak. If you just spend 2000 bucks on a mains cable you can BET your brain will tell you the picture is better and/or sound is better. Simply because you want it and are trying your hardest to listen/look for anything that you thought you never noticed before. Just like placebo meds... if it works for you... it works and who cares why. he has MANY satisfied customers who fully 'believe' in what he sells. (hot air ) If they are happy spending that amount of cash on an illusion that appears to be real to those who buy it... than both parties are happy and no harm is done IMO. I certainly won't even buy the cheapest junk he sells but my opinion is well known over here.
