I found that a cable tie (the ratchet/click type) around the dual to mono op amp assembly so that it exerts a slight downward pressure on the op-amps so that they are held steady and better contacted in their sockets really improves the 3D quality and gives a better overall sound, at least that's what I heard, it may also work for duals without an adapter to make a better connection in their socket as soldering these in is not really a sensible option. Opinions welcome.

I don't see why not.... you could also supplement that with a big blob of hot melt glue and stick a brick on top of it... that should ensure a nice tight fit

or stick a brick to the top of the opamp? Ian Personally....... I would get a fine tip iron and actually solder the adaptor / chip together IF you are sure that the chip is going to stay.

I was not aware that pressure from the top made the pins have better contact. The electrical transmission qualities of solder are also questionable - I think that I will go kill myself, no hope left. No wire wrap posts left.

Oh, this also will ................, I think. But I've heard it only over IC in a hirez system only. Expensive though.
