X-Can V2 Pass Through Question

I have a question about the line-out pass through on the X-Can V2. Does anybody know if the pass through works if the amplifier is not plugged in?

I'd like to put my X-Can in line with a speaker amplifier that doesn't have a line out or headphone jack so I can still use my headphones. I'm not concerned if there is minor quality loss from the pass through, but I don't like to leave the X-Can plugged in all the time.

The Line In and Line Out are hardwired together, so you don't need it turned on.
