Nice! still surprised at the difference in SQ after changing those green BP Nichicons to an alternative type, good fun comparing these things A few idea's to try yet, anybody else tried anything a little different? I'd like to play with the input section regulation some more

Hey guys,
I've seen some (or at least one) Panda been build into a 1U Galaxy case. Where did the owner source a 50VA toroidal which is lower than 40mm?
TIA, Marc

But then i got confused as 50VA is suggested in one of the threads, for whatever reason. Anyway, you confirmed what i thought was right. Marc

Mike, I've started to play with my second Panda, I've matched the 2SK trannies (using a battery and multimeter). I tested the leftovers from Panda 1 and the new ones and aside from a couple at 2.22mA and one at 3.91mA, the rest were 3.5mA +/- 5%.
Anyhoo, do I need to test the others? If so, could you explain how? Is it the same method?
Cheers,
Richard

Thanks, Mike - I'll get soldering then! ;D I'm holding off with the caps though - I'd still like to build a 'Super Panda' so I'm waiting to see what your latest cap mods bring. I've already assembled the case and wired the transformer etc - just the board to populate.

dicky If you have gone to the trouble to balance the input FETs, it would be good practice to match the 2 x 2SA1015 on each channel that connect to the FETs. Otherwise you will cause some unbalance of your nicely matched FETs. You would need to use a DMM with a transistor test facility or similar. If you do not have anything suitable, then do not worry about it. Alex P.S. Mike Can you please stop scratching your head ? You are dropping dandruff everywhere !

Took me a long time to work out how to "do" snow on here.... had to put a script in the global footer and point it to snow.gif..... I can make it heavier (like a blizzard) or change the direction.... will play about with it later

HLLY panda kit is now $168 on eBay. Ouch. Methinks that if my kit never arrives I won't be re-ordering from there. I wonder if I can get a refund at the new price?

Seems like the Panda Kits are a moving target.. David's site says "no longer availalble" and HLLY is the only other place selling them.. for $168 w/o transformer

on fleebay $ 198 but including transformer AND shipping costs. You will only need some parts and a cabinet + shipping for these parts.
Perhaps David will sell some more.. Just e-mail the guy and ask him.. he is very helpfull.
