As I have finally got my DIY amp up and running, the time has come to say farewell to my pair of Arcam D290P power amps.
One I have owned from new (94-ish), and the other I bought from eBay a few years ago. Both are in very good condition, but no boxes. Both shorting links for mono (not bridged) operation are present. Rated output is 70WPC into 8 Ohms.
Both amps have been re-capped using premium parts (Panasonics, not boutique) and have a pair of socketed LM49710 (like a single 4562) doing the biz on the front end.
Both units' 2 x 10 000uF power supply reservoir caps have been replaced, too.
NOW ON EBAY.
Update:
Amps all boxed and ready to go - one box at 14Kg. UK courier delivery around £9.80 standard, £23.35 express saver (next day PM) and £26.14 express (next day noon), dependant on courier used.
Can send medium res pics, or hi-res on CD, and also .pdf of service and user manuals.
Thanks for looking!

What diy amp you have now? The class A? But that is just not enough power at 15W at 8ohms.

You would be surprised at how loud a 15W/Channel, solid state Class A design can sound, even in comparison with valve amplifiers of double the power. It can actually deliver 25-30W into 4 ohm loads, although above 7.5W into 4 ohms it operates in Class AB. The 15W Class A design has a much greater power bandwidth than a typical valve amplifier design too, as it can also go down to DC if offset correctors are used, and the HF response is much greater than the vast majority of valve designs. The LF response will also obviously depend on how low the speakers can go. My DCM QED 8ohm (nominal) speakers are only 87dB sensitivity at 1W and 1 metre, yet I have never been able to use anywhere near full power in a domestic situation. Alex

..and I thought I had got some interest..!!! My DIY amp is a stereo MyrefC, designed by Mauro Penasa and PCBs a Twisted Pair clone from the Uriah/Peter DIYA buy. I have a second amp case to drill out, and I bi-amp my IPLs www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/82947-ipl-speakers-nearing-completion-wow.htmlThese are 89dB sensitive, IIRC. And yes, I do intend to try Class A amplification. I have chassis ready for that, as I was, and still intend to build some Pass designs. Cheers Jon PS Apologies for any late/no replies, as I am trying to recover my Mac from a meltdown. Nearly done, but need to take delivery of another back up HDD before I can use the thing again!

Nope - didn't hear anything back from the chap above. His last login was to make that post.
So, still boxed and waiting to go. I've got my eye on some serious eBay purchasing that needs to be funded.
