Hi Has anyone used the Anthony Gallo little round micro speakers?looking for something really small to use as rear surrounds.looked at the price & specs & really quite good, the only thing they lack are a crossover;would this be important in rear surround sound?not very techy myself so thought i would ask those that might know. cheers Colin

I've never heard them and I've never had a surround sound set-up, so I can't comment on how they soound, but if they only have a single, full range driver they don't need a crossover. The crossover is only necessary in speakers with two or more drives. In a two driver design the crossover splits/filters the incoming signal so that the high frequencies are filtered from the signal going to the woofer, which couldn't reproduce them anyway, and the low frequencies are filtered from the signal going to the tweeter, which cannot reproduce low frequencies and may also be damaged trying. In a three driver speaker, you may split the signal three ways, into bass, mids and treble. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_crossover
