V-LPS versus X-LPS V8

Does anyone know of any specific differences between these two products, apart from power supply circuitary and the housing? I am wondering if the quality of some components might be higher in the X-LPS or perhaps it is slightly improved design in other respects.
I guess the other thing to consider is that the X-LPS V8 would need to be powered by a power supply from Mike whereas the V-LPS provides the option of battery power (or the V power supply or Mike's).
I am just wondering if overall, the X-LPS with a Little Pinkie SE might just topple the V-LPS in sound quality (whether powered by batteries, Mike's supply or the MF supply).
