I finally bit the bullet and bought an used Slim Devices Squeezebox 3. This was purchased by Logitech and re-named Squeezebox Classic, however the unit is no longer in production.
I set up the unit last night and it is streaming music to feed a Model 88CD by Henry Kloss. This is a table top radio with rca inputs in the back which IMO sounds very good for what it is.

Over the next few days I will attempt to learn how to use this unit and see if it is worth keeping or not (for my intended application). Cheers.
