I have just picked up a used X-can V3 and would like to get the mods done to it in the near future. However I would sooner trust myself to perform brain surgery than take to it with a soldering iron!
So I was wondering if there is someone in Sydney with the requisite skills and experience who could perform the surgery for a fee?
I will also want the gain adjusted if that's possible. My source is a red wine audio modified ipod which has a low voltage output that really needs a high gain amp.
PM me if you're interested.

Richard Even if you are able to find somebody local to do the mods for you, have you worked out the cost of the mod kit plus the Little Pinkie PSU which would be needed to bring out the best in it ? You are already talking around >200GBP, and we haven't even taken into account the cost of a new pair of decent valves, as the existing may be noisy, or with little remaining life in them. You may have trouble sourcing valves locally too, so if you decided to go ahead it would be best to purchase a 55GBP mod kit plus a set of new valves from Mike. The performance will also be down compared to full capabilities without a decent PSU. You could use a 12-0-12 30VA transformer from local suppliers, but you still need to house it in a suitable case , fit a fused IEC socket, and make up an output lead with plugs and sockets etc. IF you were into DIY, then that cost could be slashed. My plan was to order the kit plus a set of the Russian tubes. I probably won't worry about the PSU initially. I had read either here or on head-fi that tubes and the cap upgrades offer better bang for buck than the pinkie so thought I would start there.
