It looks really good Mike. I still love the X-Can V2 with the Little Pinkie. Really attached to that combo big time. It just has superb dynamics and clarity and the power supply with its rocker switch allows it to be turned off as well.
As usual, so neat inside as well. Such talent!!

It just has superb dynamics and clarity and the power supply with its rocker switch allows it to be turned off as well. As usual, so neat inside as well. Such talent!! Even though the V3i and the SE are the same 30VA / 12V I have had a few reports from V3i owners that the SE a lot more open with better dynamics.... I thought they both sounded pretty close and decided to make the SE edition to satisfy the people who wanted a "toroidal" and a fancy mains inlet socket etc..... The SE is totally silent (mechanically) and the centre being flooded with epoxy does seem to have tightened the bass up quite noticeably... It's a lot more time consuming making the SE, there's a lot of dangly stuff to fit into a small enclosure with, literally, 1mm to spare in places. The transformer is not only bolted into position, the rubber pad is glued to the chassis, the toroid is then glued to the rubber pad and then the "hole" is infilled with resin.... the top pad is fitted and then the metal disc, it is then torqued up and the nut secured with a flooding of hot melt glue so that toroid is going nowhere! I've never been a great believer in these "boutique" mains inlets but there's no harm in fitting one so every SE will come with a Rhodium plated IEC socket (or 24K gold plated, whichever I have in stock)..... I have no intention of dropping the V3i unless nobody buys them!

My Little Pinkie SE is just great. I highly recommend it. I use it with my X-Can V3 (modded by Mike). That V3 with the Little Pinkie SE is currently the best sounding amp that I have. The modded V3 with Little Pinkie SE is huge improvement over the stock V3 with the cheap wallwart. Many thanks to Mike for that great experience.

Glad it arrived safely Eric I had a brief listen to the Neco and it's a very nice amp, the stock wallwart is a bit naff but the amp itself is beautifully put together, real good quality. Enjoy the music Mike.

The new one looks absolutely superb. I have the older version on my X-Can V2 it's a stunning combination. Of all of the amps I have, I always return to this one; especially with the Senn HD650. Lovely match and the Little Pinkie increases its punch and dynamic levels. It also means that other tubes can be used that require more power behind them. They give a good kick into the amp.
