I was comparing the 5th gen. nano with the iriver.no amps attached. adding a neco portable even a crap player would sound amazing:D. I tried to adapt to the 6th nano.they simply reinwented the ipod shuffle again.thats not ok for the price of 129.99£ first.i dont liked the touch screen, its too small with poor low resolution and blurry.second.it is a shuffle with a touch screen LOL.third.the screen is small and that touch thingie is cumbersome. so i got the 5th ignoring the fact that the 6th is the way to go  news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-10291701-37.htmlemployee misstreatment, illegal overtime, suicide workers,poisoning @ work,non-recyclable hardware components, and toxins thats the hardware. the software - a bunch of forward thinking lunatics who are agree to pay whatewer apple says to be hip and up to date with the modern standarts. My eyesight is terrible these days but I can still see what I'm doing when it comes to selecting an album and hitting "play" without the aid of spectacles.... is it "blurry" or do you need glasses? Yep, the conditions the ipod workers work under are attrocious... they are treated like robots and paid a pittance. Do you know it would take an ipod worker 1 YEAR to be able to afford an ipod? That is clearly NOT right. So..... what to do about it? Stop buying ipods? Stop buying ANYTHING made in China? (it's the same, across the board in China)..... it wasn't too long ago that the working class in the UK were suffering the same conditions.... no pension, no insurance, a 14 hour day in a mine just to put a loaf of bread on the table.... It seems that ANY growing economy can only properly "grow" by enslaving the weak / poor and working them into the ground for a pittance. Do I agree with it? NO! will I stop buying Apple products? No!.... there's the thing, we are so full of shit when it comes to "human rights / working conditions"... we disagree with it but we still keep buying INTO it! China is "still" pretty out there when it comes to treating people with respect and dignity, we can only hope that things get better for those poor sods who have to spend 14 hours each day working their arses off in a glorified concentration camp.... "Hope" is all we can offer as there is NO WAY we will pass up a bargain is there? If the Ipods were made in the west they would cost £1500 each.... would you buy one then? Do you REALLY care about those poor bustards who are slaving so we can "twitter" and listen to music "on the move"? If so, stop buying into it. Hold on though..... if we stop buying they will be jobless and starving. It's a really unfair world isn't it? Nop, they are a network of people more evil as Stalin:D.And they want a 1000%+ net income of every piece of shait that they are selling. A company that i know buys "goods" made in china for 27 000£...they sell that shit...and the total income from theese "goods" is then 42 000£.that was only one freight.

We "could" (and HAVE, during the industrial revolution) work like slaves for nothing but most people would not want to go back to those conditions. China will soon become like the rest and conditions WILL improve, it's only a matter of time. It was not too long ago in the UK that children were sent down coal mines at 10 years of age to work an 18 hour day so we KNOW what it's like  |

I can proudly say im a racist Most of us are but few will admit it in public. It's nothing to do with colour of skin or country of origin as far as I'm concerned if a certain "type" of person pisses me off then they piss me off. Religious fanatics piss me off, free loading "anti capitalists" piss me off (note, they always collect their giro cheque!), people who don't want to work and prefer to sponge off the state piss me off. people who have no intention of integrating into society and refuse to learn the native language piss me off, people who cry out "racist" because it's the only English word they know (apart from "where do sign on") piss me off, fat people piss me off, people who drive 4 x 4 jeeps in town piss me off, people who have children called "Toby" piss me off, non smokers who complain about smokers smoking piss me off (I never complain about them NOT smoking).... I could, LITERALLY, go on all night and the list of people / types of people that piss me off would be endless. I have GREAT admiration and respect for the Chinese (always have had) they are lovely people, very hard working and don't ram their religion down everyone else's throats, they DESERVE to inherit the Earth. |

If I was a youngster again (and had skills to offer) I would take a punt at India or even China.... The Netherlands?? Not my first choice on the re-locate list One good thing over there though is "Frans".... worth relocating to be near him  All depends what you are looking for..... if you're looking for an exciting "challenge" then try China or India..... if you are looking for a place to live peacefully in and are not "driven" by money then Scotland (far north) or Iceland..... FWIW I agree with the general sentiments Mike but not necessarily with all the specfics. I'm pissed off by anybody who comes here to escape from their homeland for whatever reason and then set about turning Britain into the sort of place they couldn't wait to escape from. Integrate and learn the language = "Welcome", ghetto-ise and only speak their native tongue and/or religious missionary fanaticism = "Go Home". Colour has nothing to do with it in my opinion. 2 years ago a mate quit his job to seek "better" life in Hongkong. We should have a nice trip with the transsiberian train trough Russia,Siberia,Mongolia and then China.A big part of the road in Russia we should hitchhiking.It adds more fun and thrill and its cheap way to travel:D. Actually the conditions in the civilized part of China are not so bad.He had some frends there.He didnt pay rent for a while searching a job.The food is dirt cheap there so he had not to starv himself:( And all because of women i didn't throw my life away to work in a ipod factory |

It is amazing. When you compare to the first ones with hardly any memory let alone the awful sound of them, you realise how far we've moved on. I used the first ones out and they were truly awful. These Nanos really make serious musical sounds.
