So what are some of the crazy things you have done for the sake of having a more enjoyable listening experience? I will start with going balanced on the go. First I bought an used iRiver H120 which I opened up and replaced the 20 Gb hard drive w/ an 80 Gb hard drive. I also replace the battery with a higher capacity one rated at 2,350 mAh. Next I bought an used Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 for which I proceeded to mod by purchasing an aftermarket silver cable from Null Audio. Then I had the Null Audio cable re-terminated with a "hirose" plug so both the left and right are independently fed. I then use an iBasso Boomslang which is a balance out portable DAC. This is fed from the optical out of the iRiver H120 using a miniature optical cable form Sys. Concepts in Canada. Then a balanced umbilical cable is used to feed the iBasso Toucan from the iBasso Boomslang. The Toucan in turn feeds the TripleFi 10 via the modded Null silver cable. Yes it is very confusing, heavy, large and expensive. Thus the title of INSANITY. See picture below, thanks.

You guys definitely do not give me enough credit, although the above rig could cost in excess of $1,600 USD I have spent under $550 USD (buying used and ...). I could actually sell the stuff for more than I have into it.

Yes the $550 includes all you see in the picture. As far as how I carry, well I do not. This is intended for transportable use, I carry it to my office and use it there. Otherwise I would one large man-bag.
