I don't fly either, hate the thought of smashing into a mountain @ 900mph, so it will be boat and train for me when I come over to New York in search of the Rickmonster ;D

I've never been (mainly as I don't do flying) but would love to board a boat one day and have a nice leisurely sail across. If you ever happen to take to the seas and dock in Scotland you're welcome anytime Rick.

I've never understood fear of flying. It's when you stop flying you need to start worrying. Although I too hate flying, not for fear, but because it's so bloody boring, the takeoff is quite fun, but after that it's about as exciting as sitting on bus, albeit a very tall one.

exactly.I don't fear flying one bit it is crashing I fear Same here, last time I flew was in a Dan-Air Comet and the turbulence was pretty "radical" so much so I swore never to fly again. Since that experience I've been up in a chipmunk (drunk) and in a helicopter (drunk) I got £20 for going up in the helicopter (someone bet me I wouldn't) and £10 for going up in the chipmunk (same deal) Chipmunk There is NO WAY I'd take to the skies these days, no way Jose. Sailing is fine as I can swim but planes are totally out of the question after my Dan-Air experience all those years ago.

You must be able to swim a long way if you think it's going to help if the boat goes down halfway across the Atlantic.

I personally would choose swimming the Atlantic over swimming the Pacific every damn time folks.to me drowning is a better choice than being eaten by sharks
