More information on faked headphones: www.headfonia.com/headphone-replicas/Maybe some of the faked headphones will sound not that bad for their price, but in my case I woudn't even look at them... in Switzerland they would be confiscated by the customs (if they are aware they are fakes). Not enough: They would not be only confiscated, you would also have to pay a monetary fine. Replicas/copies can end up soon with a lot more cost than you would pay for the original (depending on your countries laws).

THE question... How come there's a major difference in prices of AKG headphones from... say... Amazon, or eBay and from AKG official web page? For instance, AKG (UK) lists Q701s for £350: uk.akg.com/quincy-jones-uk/brand_akg/akg-headphones/quincy-jones-signature-line.html and you can get the same (?) headphones from a 100% reputable amazon dealer with 1500+ positive ratings for 260 american dollars? did not want to open a new thread, better if it's all here

Many manufacturers agree not to compete with their sellers/agents but want to sell direct and so sell at a price that they know will not undercut their retailers. Anybody willing to pay a premium to ensure they get the genuine article will go direct to the manufactures - perhaps? Dave. BTW, nice to see Christian back on site - welcome back Christian .
