At $38 , it does NOT cost too much too build. Why not just admit that you are either too lazy, or incapable of putting such a simple project together . You can even have the DAC soldered in for a small extra amount.($5)

tools cost money. then shipping for the right caps costs extra money... and so on until that stupid little thing costs about $80 or so.

The main reason for having a kit is so that the labor component is supplied by the user, thus saving him /her money over the cost of a fully assembled unit. Don't expect other people to do all the work for you, then sell you the working unit at a cheap price. There is no such thing as a "free" lunch.
