These are BIG versions of the stock MF X-CAN V1 / V2 knobs and, unlike the stock versions which are plastic, these are solid aluminium painted black. They will NOT fit on the stock potentiometer, they will only fit on the mini ALPS pots (untrimmed)..... so, if you're thinking of replacing your pot and like the idea of a long, aluminium version of the original stock pot..... look no further

Very nice looking knob there. However I am who prefers a non-metal knob! Say in plastic, or wood. Cheers.

That is just stupid mrarroyo :-D
I just received that 5 quid metal knob from Mike, and my X-can V2 has never looked better... my only problem was that the shat on the potentiometer was cut so short that I hardly was able to fasten it.
But I agree - a nice wooden one would be nice.
I wonder - is there anything I can do now to improve the V2? I got good matching tubes. Good PSU. High quality internals.. The Xonar D1 soundcard is just so damn nice, but maybe I should have gone for the D2. The D2 is a little better specswise... but its nice. The D1 has details, but not so much that it becomes fatiguing.. no sharp sounds. It really is the best computer DAC i have ever heard.

I wonder - is there anything I can do now to improve the V2? Aha. Get better headphones (f.e. HE-5). Get better source (f.e. A-GD DAC-19DSP).

Yeh..... the "Big Daddy" will only fit correctly on "untrimmed" shafts.... yours has been trimmed Kris.... if you have a file you can always file a bit of the BIG DADDY down a bit and it will then fit perfectly.
Mike.
