I came back now just to post that I would withdraw from this thread as I seemed to be provoking an unwanted reaction from you Aren't "all" reactions unwanted unless you happen to agree with them? I will try to keep this short. we need to appreciate that we are all entitled to say what we choose regardless of who likes it. I should know I do it all the time lol just the way I am. well I do exercise restraint on occasion  few things: 1. has anyone heard the updated .... er G1 ? given an mkII tag? the board layout has changed. better ph socket, heatsinks turned one quarter turn, different caps , yada yada. I find it a bit strange there seems no mention or interest in it, yet so much in prior versions. its like the G2 came out and an update to the G1 and it goes under the radar. curious  2. tubes ? surely someone can comment of the amp as it is and what tubes they like with it. and perhaps why they feel as they do. 3. like any other item of interest here. I think talk of mods to these should be in their own thread. Joe Blow does a google and winds up in the Grotto for tube amp, reads this thread and just says WTF . personally i HATE when I search for something and it leads to a forum with no info that I am really looking for. there's me thinking out loud again lol oh wellz love it or hate it I care not   why? cause I can. I feel I am right, mods need a separate Indeed/Bravo/Miridiy Mods thread.  so Mods? [positional that is] ... ;D 4. Play nice or I take my marbles and go home Did Bach sit down with each instrument physically playing them when he created his greatest works? Could he actually play any instrument? or did he just dream it up in his head? that is preposterous, just as the earth cannot be round. I think he had 21 kids. That could be the other reason he went blind. Beethoven went deaf. He wrote the 9th symphony for a huge orchestra, choir and soloists without ever hearing it himself. he attended the concert and watched the movement of the players, hearing the sounds in his head. It moved him so much that he was crying as he took a bow. He was dead not long after from booze. He should have had a Bravo fitted. Some of that distortion might have got through. Frans You need to use both your instruments AND your ears. Beg,borrow, or steal a pair of decent electrostatic speaker, seeing that you are unable to spare the time to construct a pair, or as a last resort use one of your own amplifier designs with better than average headphones. Make the time to regularly listen to your favourite music as you once did. This may even help you to relax more ! Yes, I realise that you are a busy man, but stress is a killer. Alex |

Peace , MaN227 @solderdude thx for the Peace man now thinking of solder lol what kind I want to get. the roll I have says 60% lead. seem to recall lead is not good? so anyone heard the indeed mk2 of the G1? 60% lead is GOOOOOOOOOD....... lead is your FRIEND.... that unleaded crap is awful to work with and, without lead, tin pest will develop so expect those unleaded joints to fail pretty rapidly.... as soon as the unleaded crap gets exposed to low temperatures the tin pest spreads like a cancer.... you wonder why the Military and "critical" systems are exempt from the ROHS (unleaded) laws? because their equipment has got to be as reliable as possible.... lead free solder ensures your domestic equipment will fail prematurely (probably just after the 1 year warranty is over)..... tin pest can be prevented if the solder is ALWAYS kept at a warm temperature but that's impossible.... equipment arriving on a ship will have been subjected to low temperatures and, once the tin pest has taken hold there is no stopping it however warm you keep the equipment. Anyways.... 60 / 40 fully leaded solder is GOOOOOD!!! |

Peanut butter on a bacon roll.... this has been bugging me all day.... it doesn't "sound" good but it really is tasty... I'm not too keen on peanut butter on it's own but with bacon it's a different story.....
Lightly toast the roll, spread with butter, add crispy bacon and a generous smothering of peanut butter..... very nice.

I never eat jam on it's own (I don't have a sweet tooth) but on cheese on toast it really does crank it up a notch..... |

@ Mike, thanks for reply on solder andy, first thing comes to my mind as I just posted about painting in another thread, just paint it black. it may not block all light but will help a great deal i suspect. don't forget to paint the bottom too. |

A slightly more "involved" mod would be to blindfold her and dress her up in a Nun's outfit (black stockings / peep hole bra under her "habit")..... you may not want to "listen" while she is sleeping in that "rig" and she may be happy of the attention you are showing her The "full monty" mod would involve you dressing up as a priest and wearing a gas mask..... I will send you photos of these mods, your wife likes them believe me |

I tried crossing them and I get 3D.
The Miridiy sounds absolutely amazing after a couple of bottles. I wonder whether the blue light will attract midges in the Summer? We could name putting the blue light on again, the Midge Mod.
