. Thanks Dave, i`m back, in mind anyway, plus a 3.5 inch slot in my throat, right side of Larynx,so speechless, less a disc between C5-C6,which has been caged for support, apart from these little nuisances, never felt better Now going to play some Vinyl Alex , and chill out to the sound of music PS My Zigis Cmoy, 681, classic iPod combo, attracted a LOT of interest in Hospital, ALL that listened were amazed at SQ produced, i`m lucky to still have it!!! nice to be back

Prayers Do work after all , all the best to you Mick, God Speed man for a amp bit of info, I chk and reckek bias last night it'd drifted up to 16.9. so backed it down to 16.5 chked few times over hours later and it held steady at 16.4. so I'm happy with that. the one thing I can say is not exactly to my liking the vocals/mids seem a tad bit recessed to me. Don't recall if this is in line with the findings of others or not but to me thats the knit pick. , but On the others side of the coin I get deep, Tight bass, and smoooth highs : D. I find it even makes my mp3's sound good. ok you can pick up your jaw now lol I think my favorite thing about the sound is the separation of the different instruments and vocals, it much reminds me of my Heed CanAmp (which by the way is the best I have tried) so the Indeed is in solid company in my eyes, ears and particularly to my wallet lol for all of you aficionado's out there, if you know of another amp at this price that sounds this good, pls send me a PM, as I would love to try it. the zigis LM4562 desktop model perhaps? abt 25 $ more, portability is NOT my desire , its all about stationary. I already have a portable setup that is solid to me, I shall leave that alone. with that being said I will have some portable's up for sale before to long, someone may as well get some use out of them. I wonder if my modded 681's are making headway over the seas on the friggin' sanpan its seems to be transported on .... lol . naw I expect them to be here next tuesday. Feel like a youngin' chomping at the bit to get downstairs on Christmas morning hehe anywho. rock on

Thanks Chaz, much appreciated, Last time i checked mine the voltage had crept up a shade to, so just dropped it down again, will check again next week. What tube are you using??, i have settled for the standard one (Electro Harmonix), i really liked the Jan Phillips but could only get 15v per channel on max available trim, which i thought might be detrimental to valve or Amp(dont know just guessing), but all give good results in slightly different ways. My jaw didn`t drop, i use my Bravo with my iPod most of the time, along with my Zigis Cmoy, which i have grown equally as fond of during my spell in Hospital, excellent value for money both of them, in my opinion. Mick.

Hi Mick, Nice to have you back and even nicer that everything seems to have gone well (I'll not say "smoothly" ;D ). Hope you get back to your normal (?) self soon. Meanwhile shut up and listen - now where have you heard that before? Best wishes, Dave.

Thanks Chaz, much appreciated, What tube are you using?? I have the jan phillips as well, BUT, I want to get to know the stock electo-harmonix better before a check out the phillips. Tubes are completely new to me. what I find myself wondering is if I like this relatively cheap amp (Indeed) maybe I am a Tube Man after all, as I love it sound. Would i REALLY love a full blown tube amp even more? I've never paid much attention to tube amps in the past as they sacred me I'd actually like to try any tube that will work in this baby. I'd very much like to try one of the NOS Russian I hear talk of, no luck finding a source. if anyone wants to swap maybe ? I bought 2 of the jan phillips. Honestly I have to wonder as per Peter's little chart on ebay listings if the 6N11 may just be what the doctor ordered to bring the mids up to the front more? humm ;D Peace, Man227

I would hope so Mick, because I am 12 years older than you,and I have a benign tumour pressing on my right ear canal. It's a shame though that you can't just press a button to skip the tracks that you don't like so much, and turn the record over to the other side ! I guess that you could get your family to do that for you for the time being ? Anyway, take it easy for a while , and I hope you will soon be more mobile and pain free than before you went into hospital. Alex

MaN227 Do you by any chance wear a white "dog collar", or are a lay preacher ? I could always arrange an intro to an ex member who is a nice guy too, but now has his pulpit in another audio forum. ;D Peace ! Alex

Is there anything I can do to try and eliminate noise caused by 'airwaves'? I have to be very careful where I put the Bravo because it's so prone to picking up hums.
I don't think Mike would get the noise because of where he lives but it's very sensitive to placement.
Put a tin over the top of it?
The rustling bag noise I get goes completely if I leave it on but the hum can be quite intrusive. It doesn't come from the power supply - it seems to vary in volume depending on where you place it.

Ian Just move up to far north Scotland. Seriously, there probably isn't too much you can do short of putting it inside an earthed mesh cage while listening to it. That's the penalty you pay for it's lovely novelty appearance. I had a similar problem when I tried to make a 10 x gain low noise amplifier for my C.R.O. It was very sensitive to where you placed it, even with screened leads etc. I suspect that the much reduced RF envirionment where Mike lives may be better for your long term well being too. Alex

Thanks Alex. That's what I thought. Yes. It's electrically noisy in the South of the UK. That's the biggest problem with the Bravo. Once you find a quiet spot, it's nice and quiet once the rustling bag noise goes!! Ah well, that's the fun of tubes eh? me and tubes make strange company. The gain on it is massive and I wondered whether it could be altered so that it becomes less sensitive, but turning volume off makes no difference to the electrical noise. I'll stick it under a cullander. Ian

Freezing cold up here but RFI free Give me a couple of weeks Ian and I'll send you a PSU to try.... in the meantime a bacofoil helmet wouldn't go amiss Don't worry about "valves" man...... just play your music, it's perfectly safe..... if you start worrying about component failure you will never be relaxed enough to enjoy the music. I can assure you that you have nothing to worry about.... listen to the Bravo with confidence and don't treat it with kid gloves..... remember, solid state failed "in space" and the Russian valve technology was not phased by "outer space" operation. These valves have been designed for military usage, they are perfectly capable in a "headphone amplifier"

I've put two different PSU's on it and the electrical stuff remains so it's not coming through my radio active house. I've got a gold tooth, maybe it's picking up signals from space? The funny thing about the electrical interference is that you have to move it about two inches and it goes away. (and the valve amp) Maybe Mick can design a metal helmet that is designed for use with the Bravo? I'm working today, so I'm taking it in with me and going to sit listening when I get breaks ....... ;D Trouble is, everyone will see the bloody lights. Ian
