Hi, I did all the mods for my xcan v2 including those russian valves and it sounds much better, also before when i used to switch the xcans off i used to get a horrible sound in my headphones the sound of something dying and i heard others saying the same how could musical fidelity have not got this right, i was wondering what part of the mod put this right . thanks

I think Mike would say that all X-Cans do this. However the reason I modded mine was because of the squeal in the left channel on switch off. After mods it didn't do it anymore!

Sounds like the air being let out of a balloon? Yeh, they all do it.... remove your phones before turning off if it offends you

Its just cap discharge, totally normal for a single rail based amp You had to go and spoil it! I was quite happy with my "air being let out of a balloon" analogy .... "cap discharge" just sounds plain vulgar! I'd much rather imagine a large pink balloon flying across the room making a farting sound
