Hi, I am new to this forum and happy to join some X can lovers Few weeks ago, I bought on ebay a x can V3 which is in mint condition. I am very happy with the sonic performance of this amp nonetheless a few questions arose while listening to it. First question springs from some king of hissing in my headphone I can hardly miss when shutting down the unit. I was told this comes from the fact the unit works with "non temporized high voltage"...Do any X can V3 owner notice the same noise when shutting down the unit ? Is it normal or a failure ? For what it's worth, I am using the in wall power supply... Second question : the tubes I intend to keep this amp for a long time, therefore I intend to buy a pair of new tubes. I am satisfied with the Jan Philips 6922 so I just want to buy the same one. Do you know a reliable seller of these tubes since it seems lot of people are selling exhausted tubes stating there are new ? Last one : I know many people recommend to associate the X can with the Senn HD650. Do you with the Ergo 2 could be a good match ? Indeed, I am looking for a new headphone I will not be tired hearing at after hours and with a more natural soundstage than the one you usually get with a headphone. Thanks for reading my long post and again happy to join that forum. Greg ps : you have probably noticed I am foreigner so very sorry for my poor english !

Hi........ as Miguel said.
The ERGO requires a seriously meaty amp to really get them going, the V2 fits the bill very nicely @ 1 watt. IIRC the ERGO amp outputs 3 watts.
