X-Can V3 time to change the tubes?

Hi everyone,
Just joined here, pretty cool to find a community of X-CAN fanatics!
I have recently ordered my own little Pinkie, cant wait to plug it in and see what improvements it brings to my system!
While I am waiting for it, I am wondering (newbie question here...) when tubes need to be replaced, do you hear a lot of distortion all of a sudden, or does it come very gradually?
Since a few days, I get the impression the sound is not as "full" and warm as it used to be... (using HD-650s cans).
Would that be a sign that those tubes need to go?
They must have been running (i never switched it off) on the same set of tubes for a good 18 months...
