Hello all.
Can anyone tell me the best tubes for the X-10D...
These are the ones Mike has for sale, anyone give a recomendation?
6H23P 6N1P-EB 6N1P
I'm powering the X-10D with the XPSU so can I use the 6N1P-EB & the 6N1P pairs?
Cheers!

Hi Ringo, The X-10D comes with 6DJ8 which is ECC88..... these are lower grade versions of 6922 / E88CC (X-Can amps ship with E88CC)..... 6N23P is equivalent to 6922, as is 6N1P-EB, but 6N1P-EB has double the heater current.... I would, personally, go with 6N23P in the X-10D.... sounds a LOT better than the stock ECC88. Mike.

Great stuff.. Thanks Mike.
Just another question if I may, more of a curious one. Can I feed a mono signal (using a y cables) in and out of an X-10D?
I'm thinking of buying another one for my old record player and putting it between it and the amp. The deck has a choice of Mono and stereo and was wondering if it would be ok to do?
Would I get a nicer sound pushing a mono signal through both tubes in the X10D rather than only using the left or the right channel? I presume each tube is for the left and right channels?
Thanks

I have used the 6N1P-EB but only with the Little Pinkie PSU, even so the amp runs much hotter to the touch and if used a lot the board will be scorched a bit. So X2 on what Miket wrote. Many thanks for that mrarroyo.. that is interesting to know. I guess it can be used as an external heater in the winter months..!

Thanks If you do that by using Y cable, you are going to connect two channels of X-10D in parallel, halfing the input impedance. On the other hand the input impedance of X-10D is fairly high, so I do not believe that you will have any issues if you do that ...
