Hi everyone
i have just become a member of this forum after ordering some
6n23p valves off mike for my mf v2 (can't wait for them to arrive).
I am looking for advice off any one about the cap upgrade, i dont
know wether to pick the panasonics or the elna ones.
I like a revealing musical sound that gets to the core of the
recording with excellent timing, dynamics, soundstage, timbre etc.
my hifi equipment -
arcam alpha 9 int amp + arcam alpha 9 power amp both bi amped
with a kimber pbj interconnect.
arcam alpha 7se cd player with attenuated kimber pbj interconnect.
rega p2 tt with full rigmat system and ortofon 520 mk2 cart.
mf xlps phono with kimber kc1 interconnect.
mf xcan v2 head amp with kimber pbj interconnect.
grado sr60 head phones.
monitor audio bronze b4 floorstanders both bi wired with kimber
4tc and 8tc speaker cables.
everything exept mf stuff has a kimber reference power cord on it.
everything is on russ andrews oak cones. ( i mean everything)
kimber/ra extention cables, 2 russ andrews silencer wall warts,
ra 13a double socket with earth tag, 25m kimber earth cable to a
earth spike in the garden.
other little ra bits and bobs.
even though my equipment is getting on, i still enjoy listening to it.
i also leave my hifi on 24/7 365.
sorry to go on a bit, but it will give people a better insight instead
of "give us a clue".

cant wait for the valves to come as well, and soon order the panasonic caps too.

Got the valves, been in for 3 days now and left turned on.
My first impresions are, the sound has come out more, more detail, can hear into the recording
better, deeper tunefull bass, better clarity, better focus and soundstage.
Although the valves have got to be burned in for about 500 hours, it has made the SQ a lot
better, the bass and treble have yet to settle.
The songs i used for testing-
Tom waits - martha
The velvet underground - sunday morning
Glasvegas - geraldine
The who - magic bus
Rem - leaving new york
Will report back when the valves have burned in.
