Hi All, I'm new here and a budding audiophile. i've recently acquired a few MF X-series components and i want to use a MF PSU. I've found that the V3 PSU will run V1 components, but can it power V8 components ( I would hate to blow up my LPS-V8 cos i didn't ask the Q first!). I have X-PSU, X-24 DAC and X-10D plus a X-10V3 and an X-LPS V8 (maybe my set-up has an identity crisis?) Can I power them all with appropriate cables via a X-PSU V3?? And here's a good one for you...I've got a Rega P5 24V 50Hz motor in my Planar 3, could a modded cable from the PSU v3 power it properly?

The X-PSU V3 will NOT run V1/V2 components, it outputs 24VCT.... the V1/V2 componets require 12V. Perfectly good to run V8 components with the X-PSU V3... the V8 requires 24VCT and this is what the XPSU V3 outputs.... no problems at all

Brilliant, thanks very much! I've found this cable on eBay from Hong Kong saying it can run V1 components with a V3! is it a sham then? i19.photobucket.com/albums/b174/sweetcome/hi_fi/MF/v1_v3_plugs.jpg"Attention please, this cable for M.F. X-PSU V3 connected to V1 devices only. It can't be connected to X-PSU V1 Don't miss this chance to upgrade your gear......"

The 3 pin plug will have 12-0-12VAC going into it from the PSU. In other words, 24 V Centre Tapped. They are only using the centre wire from the 3 pin socket, and one of the other 2 wires to extract only half the voltage. Which is 12V AC. SandyK

Thank you so much. You guys cleared up in 10 minutes what took me days 2 of google research to not discover (but i did find out of helluva lot of other stuff though). I'll use my X-PSU for the X-10D and X-24DAC and an X-PSU V3 to run my X-10 V3 & LPS V8. I will not attempt to use either to run my Rega P5 motor as it is now obvious that it cannot work. My hat's off to you both and many many humble thanks!
