X-Can v8 under the bonnet pics

Here they are..... under the bonnet pics of the X-Can V8. Please read this thread if you are contemplating modding your V8 rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=q&action=display&thread=4246&page=1 I strongly recommend you don't attempt it!

I'd call this a "fat" version of the v3, nothing radical just a bit more of the same except MF are now employing cheap 6DJ8 chinese valves instead of the usual JAN Philips 6922 and are using different transistors.

Build quality is good, "too" bloomin' good actually, the capacitors are glued onto the board and soldered with some cement like substance.... I believe they call it "unleaded solder"

Compared to a Graham Slee Solo perceived value for money is VERY good, you certainly get a LOT for your money with the V8 and I wonder if this "made in the UK" stuff is just another way of extruding more money out of people..... designed in the UK, manufactured in China looks BLOODY good to me

I know that you and Graham had a falling out ,but these continuing nasty attacks on Graham and his products are alienating the many members who own his gear, many of whom purchased it based on YOUR previous recommendations.
The only person you are hurting here with this repeated sniping is yourself. This review would be taken much more seriously, if these kind of remarks were left out of the review.
Please look again at what you posted there, and edit out the vitriolic remarks. This bitterness between you and Graham should not be furthered in a public area of YOUR forum.

Glad that MF has another great product, but I'll line up with Sandy on V8 vs. Solo presentation.

Nothing wrong in comparing amps and opinions will always vary but it pays to at least be tactful imo

Ok, I have edited my comments but I stand by the perceived value remarks, you DO get a hell of a lot more for your money with the V8... I compared it with a Solo as the Solo is also a British designed amp, no other reason.
