Hi all, Can I consider it a upgrade if I sell my Denon DCD 1500 AE and buy a X-RAY CD player? My current gear is the Denon dcd 1500 AE CDP-->MF X-A2 amp-->Quadral pico speakers (new model with ribbon tweaters). It would certainly look nice to have a matching set but the price of the X-ray I consider a bit rediculous at 600 euro's. Any advice from the experts here would be greatly apreciated.

So far, the best value for money cdp is the Cambridge 840C.
An alternative is:
Astin Trew 3500 (I think)
Check these out against the X-Ray. I'm sure you will be impressed by the 840C technically and subjectively. To me it outrun the X-Ray.

I think the transport on your CDP is pretty decent, why not get an outboard DAC?

It was more becouse of the looks. ;D MF X-A2 + X-Ray = cool looks. But I only want it if it's a better CDP than my Denon. But I guess not.
