Sign me up... 1, maybe 2 depending on price.
Looking at the digikey site, 1lb = $27-32, 5lb = $41-52...

Andy wrong way around, besides careful forming of the TO99 leads and they will either fit into an 8pin DIP socket so no adapter necessary . PS I do like the slew rate test you proposed by adding huge amounts of C to the output of the op-amp, a novel test if ever

robertkd, Although the pic shown could be better, looking at the pdf, it should be straight forward to pin it correctly. Re the `slew test`........It would be both dishonourable and embarrasing for me to claim credit for that. AndyH.

I'd be interested if it comes with the adapter, or someone can point at a site I can buy one at.
I assume the opamps would be equally good in either:
Green Solo Marantz CD63KI X-DAC V3 X-CAN V3 (only joking ;oP )
I'll be up for at least one pair.

Like this...... AndyH. Andy Looking at the photo, it seems to me that the size of the pins suggests that the adapter is designed to be soldered in to the PCB, rather than plugged in to an existing socket. Seeing that the LM4562HA leads are so readily "dressed" to plug into a DIP8 socket directly, why would you want to have 2 soldered joints on each lead, when 1 would suffice ? There would also be a small amount of added capacitance between leads ? SandyK

What was the final verdict on this amp? Does it make that big a difference compared to the standard LM4562? I am very interested folks and may just put my hand up for 1 for the hell of it.
Ps- Alex, casework should be complete this weekend, hopefully catch up with you the weekend after next.

Nick I am most likely biased, but there is an initial report by Miguel in the Jaycar thread. There will also be one from Leo after his arrives. The degree of improvement ,would I expect, depend greatly on which version you have constructed. There may not be that much obvious improvement in the stock standard SC version. Alex
P.S. The metal can version was a limited production run, and won't be around indefinitely.

Bugger it, put me down for 1 then please.
As for the version i have made, it is as per your very own tweak suggestions ( well up to the latest state as of Christmas time anyways ). All i need now is Dave to recover after his back op, the sooner the better for his sake hopefully, then one day i may take delivery of his JLH kit.

Nick, I'm going to give etching a JLH a go as soon as my blank pcb arrives. Space on it for 4 JLHs I believe... so 1 for practice, 1 for me, 1 for Alex, and perhaps 1 for you? Should be here by end of next week. Would be here tomorrow if it weren't for exotic film caps being in the UK Course you'd have to source your own components - I've just done the same. 1 order to RS Components, 1 to DSE, and 1 to Bluestar International Components in the states - mainly for the toshibas.

Spirit, that would be awesome mate. Please put me down for a pcb. Alex has very kindly informed me he has all the components needed for the jlh circuit, all i need is a board My lucky day today, first time i have posted here for a while- been patiently waiting for canjunkie to get fit again.

LOL, now there`s an idea. If only I had something to promote. Best leave that one alone.. Pins can be had in a variety of flavours, just choose the most apt for the job. Socketing would mean the avoidance of any leg bending, removal of the PCB and allow quick swap-outs. The can would sit permanently on the adapter then. Added capacitance..?......havn`t got a clue, but the leg bending would add some if not more. I suspect both methods wouldn`t adversly affect it. AndyH.

andyH Don't know about where you are, but "Downunder" there aren't too many kinds of pins available of such a size that they would be a comfortable push fit into the existing socket. They could render the socket "iffy" for future insertions. The LM4562HA leads, on the other hand, are virtually a perfect fit with the type of socket provided with the kit. They wouldn't fall out,or move, if turned upside down either. Alex

rbrook You could try W.E.S. Components in Sydney. They are also available from RS Components at a quite reasonable price, but there would be a delay as they would end up on backorder. Alex
