Yes, but I prefer the old Vienna Phil version with Bohm conducting. You can get it in 24 bit too. Not as good sound as the Rattle but musically I think it has the edge. Argh... Must... Resist.... Already have many versions in my collection. Sounds like you haven't got the best one yet

Beethoven Symphony 6. Simon Rattle + Berliner Philharmoniker. 2015 recording in 192k/24bits. Anyone into classical? I have Symphonies 1 to 9, in 24/96 with Berliner Philharmoniker, Claudio Abbado. I also have the 6th on a Tring CD with the RPO. That's the version I'm most familiar with.

Yes! I like Mahler (3rd, 5th), Arvo Part, Rachmaninov (piano concert 3, Vespers) to name a few. As long as it's not Mozart because that sounds too happy for me (even his requiem). I love the movie and music of "Shine". I feel similarly for Mozart. But not because too happy, but coz most of his music are too similar. Bach is mostly quite happy too, but Bach has more variations. True. Bach lived in a time there were almost only short notes played on instruments that makes me a bit nervous, I like longer slower notes.

well damn it. I was at Amazon.co.uk a few weeks ago and found a great deal of the Gunter Wand complete orchestra collection. 29CDs for less than GBP 20. I thought I strike gold until today they sent me email saying they can no longer find a source for it.

I like Rach, he's so upbeat and positive about life: The sader the music, the happier I become.

Arvo Part - De Profundis I'm atheist to the bone but religion is bearable for me in this package (can't understand anything they say). youtu.be/tdoafPTSQpE

Hi. Chris from California here. I am listening to Michael's upgrade kit I installed in my Musical Fidelity X-CanV2 a month or so ago. It has had time to burn in and I am very impressed. Technics SL1200 stock with a Nagaoka MP-30 through the MFV2 with HiFiman HE-400S cans. Currently listening to Tim Finn's Escapade album from 1983. Thanks to Michael for this upgrade. Happy Holidays to you across the Pond.

Next "stadium" class band IMO are the Stereophonics...... good lyrics, great musicianship but I think they've left it too late PLUS they're "Welsh".... apart from their age (and being Welsh) I think they are one of the most underrated "potential" stadium bands there are.

Johnny Fatts...... he was a local legend (back in the day) and introduced mind altering substances (music of course!) to the FAR north of Scotland. A true local legend.
